Soundbath
Have you been looking for a simple way to clear your mind and lower your stress? You might want to try a sound bath.
Despite the name, there is no water involved! A Soundbath is a deeply relaxing, meditative experience where you lie down comfortably and let yourself be washed over by the soothing vibrations of beautiful instruments.
What Happens During a Session?
You simply lie on a yoga mat with a blanket and pillow, close your eyes, and listen. Janet, who is a trained practitioner, plays special instruments like crystal singing bowls, deep gongs, and gentle chimes.
Unlike regular music, a sound bath has no catchy rhythms or melodies. This allows your brain to stop overthinking and truly rest.
Why Do People Love It?
-
Deep Relaxation: It quickly calms anxiety and melts away physical tension.
-
Better Sleep: Many participants report enjoying their best night of sleep right after a session.
-
Easy Meditation: If you find it hard to sit in silence, the soothing sounds give your mind a gentle anchor to focus on.
How Does It Work?
It is all about science! The deep, resonant sound waves interact with your body and brain. They help slow down your brain waves and signal to your nervous system that it is safe to completely relax. It shifts your body out of "fight or flight" mode and into a peaceful state of recovery.
If you are curious about trying one, the next Soundbath at the Old School is on Thursday 10th September 2026 at 7.30 pm.
The cost is £15 and you can book online at THIS LINK!
No experience is needed—just bring an open mind!
